P.V.I. National Executive Committee come from all over New Zealand. All have a deep passion for P.V.I. and the improvement of social and educational outcomes for our children.
Pat Fox
Pat is the present Chairperson of P.V.I. Pat lives in Oamaru. She has 3 children one of whom has a severe vision impairment along with other challenges. Pat is the Southland/Otago Representative on P.V.I.
Melanie Hodson
Melanie is a vision impaired mum of 2 children one of whom is vision impaired. Melanie is the Vice Chair of P.V.I. and is the Wellington Representative. She is a qualified chef and currently works in the rest home industry.
Michelle Williams
Michelle is the proud mother of twin girls, who are both vision impaired and like to keep mum honest! Michelle is the Canterbury Representative, and is the current Treasurer of P.V.I.
Gaynor Edgar
Gaynor is the Auckland Area representative and is on the Board of Trustees of BLENNZ. She is the Mother of three daughters and two sons. Her youngest son, Ming Ming, (adopted from China) is her last child at home now. He is 16 years old and has lived in New Zealand for almost 9 years. Ming Ming has Lebers Congenital Amaurous. He has light perception only. He is mainstreamed at High School and is a Cane and Guide Dog user. He is also a braille reader and writer. Gaynor has been involved with P.V.I. for nine years. She is also the Northland Regional Representative on P.V.I and has been on the National Executive Committee for the past 4 years. Her main passions in life are her family and assisting our vision-impaired children to live life to the full.
Lou Halbert
Lou is the Pacific Island Representative. Lou a mother of eight children, and a school teacher and is passionate about “Parent Education Needs” and children with disabilities. Her daughter has multiple challenges and attends a college in Tauranga.
Shane Jordan
Shane hales from Wanganui. His son is totally blind and in residence at the Homai campus of BLENNZ. Shane is a mechanic with Toyota. He is one of our “Anywhere in New Zealand representatives”.
Andrea Lamont
Andrea is a “Tangatewhenua Representative” and lives in Christchurch with her two children. Her son is vision impaired and attends his local secondary school.
Jane Hepi
Jane lives in Tauranga and is the proud mother of Porsche, who attends a high school in Tauranga. Jane is one of our two “Tangatewhenua Representatives”.
Don Fairgray
Don lives near Katikati, and is one of our "Anywhere in New Zealand" Representatives. Don has a vision impaired daughter, “Laura”, who loves her pony and keeping both Mum and Dad busy.
